No One Mourns the "Wicked"

Friday, May 28, 2010

Nowadays, people act like everything is solely dependant on the circle you are in. There is an acceptance among many Americans that has meshed most of the opposition between "good and bad." Things like wearing white to a wedding are tradition because white is considered the color of purity. You would wear black to a funeral because it is the color of mourning. Who said this has to be so? Why are drugs and alcohol a no-no subject? Why are we so uptight that any of this matters? I don't know. Religion is not necessarily a necessity either. Atheism and nihilism are beliefs. Atleast these people believe in something. This is why art is so important to us. It is kind of like our salvation because the arts are some of the few things we can still unite around. As far as I'm concerned everything we think matters will mean nothing one day. Why not enjoy life doing something beautiful?
